Termination Date

T

Short Description

The date when a dental insurance policy ends, after which the policyholder no longer has coverage.

Long Description

A termination date is the official end date of a dental insurance policy, after which the policyholder no longer has active coverage. Termination can occur due to:

  • Non-payment of premiums

  • Job loss or change in employment (for group plans)

  • Switching to a new insurance provider

  • Reaching the coverage end date (such as for temporary plans)

After termination, claims for services received after the termination date will not be covered. Some individuals may qualify for COBRA continuation coverage (for employer-sponsored plans) or may need to enroll in a new plan during open enrollment.

Policyholders should confirm their termination date to ensure seamless coverage if transitioning to a new dental insurance plan.
