Simple Extraction

S

Short Description

A straightforward procedure to remove a visible tooth without surgical tools or sectioning.

Long Description

A simple extraction is a routine dental procedure used to remove a fully visible and accessible tooth that can be extracted with standard dental instruments. It is usually done under local anesthesia and involves loosening the tooth before removing it.

Simple extractions are typically performed when a tooth is decayed, damaged, or loose due to gum disease but does not require surgical intervention. Common tools used include elevators and forceps.

Recovery is generally quick and uncomplicated. Patients are given instructions to manage discomfort and prevent complications, such as biting on gauze to stop bleeding and avoiding straws to reduce the risk of dry socket.
